Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Rabat → Meknes → Volubilis → Fez
We begin our journey in Rabat and head to the imperial city of Meknes to admire its monumental gate, Bab Mansour. Next, we explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Fez, the spiritual capital, to spend the night.
Day 2: Guided Tour of Fez
We dedicate the entire day to exploring the medina of Fez with a local guide. We will delve into its labyrinthine streets, visit the famous tanneries, madrasas, and bustling souks.
Day 3: Fez → Ifrane → Merzouga Desert
Today, we travel south. We cross the Middle Atlas, stopping in Ifrane and the cedar forest. After crossing the Ziz Valley, we arrive in Merzouga, where camels await us for a sunset ride to our desert camp.
Day 4: Exploring the Merzouga Desert
A full day to discover the secrets of the Sahara in a 4x4. We visit the Gnawa village of Khamlia to listen to music, meet nomadic families, and explore the desert landscapes. We spend a second night in the desert.
Day 5: Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley
After a desert sunrise, we head to the impressive Todra Gorge. We then follow the "Route of the Thousand Kasbahs" to the picturesque Dades Valley, where we dine and spend the night.
Day 6: Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Aït Ben Haddou → Marrakech
We continue to Ouarzazate, "the gateway to the desert," and visit the famous Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou. Finally, we cross the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka pass in the High Atlas to arrive in Marrakech.
Day 7: Guided Tour of Marrakech
A local guide will show us the secrets of the "Red City," including Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the colorful souks.
Day 8: Marrakech → Casablanca → Rabat
Enjoy a free morning in Marrakech. We then begin our return journey to Rabat. We make a stop in Casablanca to see the exterior of the majestic Hassan II Mosque. We arrive in Rabat in the afternoon.
Day 9: Departure from Rabat
After breakfast, and depending on your flight time, you will have free time before we transfer you to the airport, concluding our grand tour.
